Get the strategies you need for a successful job search in today’s competitive market. 

Finding a job requires time, a strategic approach, and resources. Strategies for Today’s Jobs is a month-long course that offers comprehensive job search strategies and one-on-one coaching support to help you get your next great job. Students will learn about the job search process from start to finish, get real practice with stages of the application process, and access to tools like JobScan, Big Interview, YouScience, and Handshake. 

You’ll get:

  • 1-on-1 career coaching to address your unique job search needs
  • Resume & cover letter writing assistance
  • Access to Jobscan, a tool that analyzes resume effectiveness
  • Face-to-face & remote interview practice using Big Interview (AI driven software)
  • Networking experience and strategies
  • Help creating a personal brand & elevator pitch
  • LinkedIn & Indeed training
  • Salary negotiation skills
  • Ongoing career support

Who can benefit?

This program is designed for students of all backgrounds. Whether you’re seeking an internship, apprenticeship, trying to land your first dream job, or looking to re-enter the workforce after a recent layoff or prolonged absence, we can help. 

Time Commitment

This class meets for two hours each, two days per week (M/W or T/Th) for 4 weeks. Students must complete the required assignments in order to pass the course.

Register

Whether you are new to ACC or you already have an ACCeID, select the option that applies to you. Then, follow the steps to register through ACC’s Continuing Education department.

I'm new to ACC (You do not have an ACCeID)

  1. Click on the Registration button and go to the bottom left of the page
  2. Click on “Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes” (You will not be charged!)
  3. Enter your desired course number or synonym (See class schedule above)
  4. On the “Select Classes” screen, click the empty box to the left of the class you just chose, then click “Submit.”
  5. On the “Personal Identification” screen, fill in your personal info, then click “Submit.”
  6. The next screen will ask you for feedback. Click “Submit” when completed.
  7. Lastly, select “Register Now” from the drop-down menu then select a payment type. Then click “Submit” to receive registration confirmation.

I’m a current or returning ACC Student (You have an ACCeID)

  1. Click on the Registration button and go to the bottom left of the page
  2. Click on “I have attended ACC and Know my ACC eID” (first option).
  3. Log in using your ACC eID and password.
  4. Click on “Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes.” (You will not be charged!)
  5. Enter your desired course number or synonym. (See class schedule above.)
  6. On the “Select Classes” screen, click the empty box to the left of the class you just chose, then click “Submit.”
  7. On the “Personal Identification” screen, fill in your personal info, then click “Submit.”
  8. The next screen will ask you for feedback. Click “Submit” when completed.
  9. Lastly, select “Register Now” from the drop-down menu, and select a payment type. Then click “Submit” to receive registration confirmation.

Click on the button below, then use the corresponding class synonym to complete registration.
