Students previously assigned to a Student Advocate for academic support will now be reassigned to a member of the Academic Guidance Team (AGT). This adjustment allows student advocates to focus more on supporting students with basic needs while ensuring advisors can dedicate their expertise to providing high-quality academic guidance.

AGT members will assist students in areas such as:

  1. Staying on track for their program of study
  2. Selecting appropriate classes
  3. Making decisions about their educational and career goals

Student Advocates will continue to play a vital role by:

  1. Supporting students with basic needs and resource connections
  2. Providing Student Emergency Fund recommendations and support
  3. Acting as parenting student and foster care student liaison support

Next Steps for Students

Students will be matched with their new academic advisors. Advisors will reach out to their assigned students once these matches are finalized.

In the meantime, students can:

  1. Use the Advising Contact Form to contact Advising staff on their campus with general questions.
  2. Connect with an advisor on any campus during walk-in advising hours in January for immediate support.
  3. Meet virtually with online advising during operating hours.

These updates are designed to provide a more seamless and personalized experience, ensuring every student has the guidance and resources they need to thrive academically and beyond.
