October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time to recognize the skills and contributions of people with disabilities in the workplace.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” is a reminder that disability is just one part of a person’s experience—and that people with disabilities bring valuable perspectives, skills, and talents to all kinds of careers.
Whether you’re preparing for a job, internship, or career change, it’s also a good time to learn more about your rights and the role accessibility can play in the workplace. Some disabilities are visible, while others—including mental health conditions—may not be.
