Tijerina’s Collection

Dr. Andrés Tijerina, a native of Ozona, earned his Bachelor’s degree from Texas A & M University, Master’s from Texas Tech, and Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. Following teaching stints at Tech, UT Austin, UT San Antonio, and Texas A & M – Kingsville, Dr. Tijerina joined the faculty of ACC and serves with distinction as Professor of History at the Pinnacle Campus. Tijerina’s collection consist of a wide variety of books such as: Mexican American Studies, Texas History, Mexican history, History of the United States and Black History to name a few. The collection also includes some of the books that Dr. Andres has published as Early Tejano Ranching in Duval Count and Tejano Empire: Life on the South Texas Ranchos

Peraza-Rugeley Collection

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and diverse experiences, A. Margarita Peraza-Rugeley embarked on an intriguing academic journey. Their path began in dental school at the University of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, but ultimately led them to the United States, where they currently reside.

Possessing a remarkable intellectual aptitude, Peraza-Rugeley holds not only a dental degree but also two master’s degrees in distinct fields and a doctorate in Spanish literature. This impressive collection of qualifications reflects their continuous pursuit of learning, fueled by both external opportunities presented by various educational institutions and their intrinsic passion for exploration and skill development. García de Mendoza Collection

Dr. Adalberto Garcia de Mendoza was a scholar professor of philosophy and music at the UNAM and director of the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico.
