At Austin Community College, we’re proud to be a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), dedicated to empowering Hispanic students, faculty, and staff. The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) has been crucial in this effort since 2003, enhancing access and success for the Hispanic community. As one of the inaugural recipients of the Seal of Excelencia, ACC continues to lead in serving Latin students—and we are ready to do more!
A few weeks ago, we had an incredible time at the TACHE Pachanga, a fantastic afternoon of food, fun, and friendship where we celebrated our Hispanic community at ACC. This event was a reminder of the power of connection and the importance of celebrating our culture.
TACHE and El Centro, ACC’s Latin American Cultural Center, work together to create a space where students feel seen, celebrated, and supported. El Centro fosters cultural pride through arts, music, dance, and literature, while TACHE advocates for policies and practices that ensure our students succeed academically and professionally.
The future of ACC’s success is closely tied to how well we support and engage our Hispanic community and it is crucial that we all contribute to this mission. As always, thank you to all our staff, supporters, and community members—your voices make a difference in shaping the future of our students. Together, we will continue to lead the way in supporting Hispanic students at ACC.
