El Centro’s Día de los Muertos Celebration

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring Día de los Muertos this past October and November 2024. We had an amazing time with activities filled with joy, reflection, and community.

A Day of Remembrance and Connection

Día de los Muertos is a beautiful tradition that allows us to honor and remember our loved ones who have passed. This year, we had a wonderful time decorating our calaveras (sugar skulls), each one uniquely crafted to reflect the spirit of those we miss. The creativity and love that filled the room were truly inspiring!

The Heart of the Celebration: The Ofrenda

A key part of this celebration is the ofrenda, or altar. Families create these colorful displays in their homes and at cemeteries, filled with photos, favorite foods, and personal mementos of those we’ve lost. Each item on the ofrenda welcomes the spirits back, inviting them to join us in the festivities.
