Who is Eligible
If you’re ready to build confidence and take the next step in your education, PATHS can help you stay on track. The CIS PATHS Program is open to students who:
- Transitioned from Communities In Schools (CIS) services in high school and want continued support in college.
- Are first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, or students who would benefit from extra guidance and resources.
- Are enrolled at one of the participating ACC campuses (Highland, Riverside, or Hays for Fall 2025 launch).
- Want access to wraparound services that include academic support, personal guidance, leadership opportunities, and community connections.

Does the program cost anything?
No — the CIS PATHS Program at ACC is completely free for students.
Thanks to a partnership between Austin Community College and Communities In Schools, all services, resources, and support are provided at no cost to you.
Do I have to be enrolled full-time?
No — you do not have to be enrolled full-time to participate in CIS PATHS.
The program is open to both full-time and part-time ACC students. What matters most is your commitment to staying engaged, making progress, and connecting with the support available to you.
How long can I be in the program?
Students can stay in the CIS PATHS Program for their entire time at ACC.
From your first semester through graduation or transfer, PATHS is here to support you every step of the way. As long as you are enrolled at ACC and remain engaged with the program, you can continue receiving services and resources.

Do I still qualify, and can I use ACC’s other free student support services?
Yes. You can still qualify for the PATHS program as long as you meet the program requirements, like passing your classes each semester and completing any required practice hours. If you’re unsure about your status, it’s a good idea to check in with your PATHS Program Manager.
Also, as an ACC student, you have access to lots of free support services! These include tutoring, counseling, help with technology, food assistance, and more—everything designed to help you succeed during your time here.
