Your ACCmail account automatically reflects the name on your ACC record:
- Students: [first name].[last name]@g.austincc.edu
- Employees: [first name].[last name]@austincc.edu
You can change the name that appears on your ACCmail in one of two ways.
Chosen First Name
Austin Community College recognizes that faculty, staff, and students may use names other than their legal name to identify themselves. ACC has a process that allows students to request use of a chosen first name where possible within the College’s records and systems. Legal names are used when necessary for college business or legal purposes.

Official records must be updated prior to requesting a name change
Before requesting the ACCmail name change, you must first change your name on official college records. Submit the appropriate form below:
- Students – Submit Student Data Change Forms
- Employees – Submit this change within Workday under the “Personal Information” section.
If you have legally changed your name for marriage, adoption, or other reasons (i.e. spelling correction), you may change your official ACCmail address username AFTER the name change is reflected in your Austin Community College record.
IMPORTANT: Changing your ACCmail address username may cause service interruption and/or data loss in non-ACCmail services that you access using your ACCmail account login credentials (i.e. MySL, Groupon, and others). Read more information about access, continuous mail delivery, Drive documents, etc.
