Financial Aid for Undocumented Students

The Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) helps undocumented students who are Texas residents access state financial aid*. We encourage students who are not eligible for financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to complete the TASFA instead. Do not complete both applications.

Before You Get Started

Apply to ACC and activate your ACC eID before submitting the TASFA. Your ACC eID connects your TASFA to your student account. If you forget to provide your ACC eID, you will need to redo your application later, causing delays in processing.

Ensure you meet the Texas residency requirements outlined in Senate Bill 1528 (SB 1528). Confirm your Texas Residency by submitting a Residency Affidavit Form with Admissions & Enrollment.

2024-2025 TASFA Steps (Next School Year)

Follow these steps to secure your financial aid for the 2024-2025 school year, starting with Fall 2024. Include ACC in your application using school code 012015 and your ACC eID.

Step 1: Submit the 2024-2025 TASFA

The 2024-2025 TASFA is available online or in paper format. We recommend using the online form, but you can submit a paper application if you prefer.

Option 1: Complete the online eTASFA

  1. Visit highered.texas.gov/tasfa.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Log In”.
    • If you are a new user, click “Learn More” to answer pre-application questions ensuring your eligibility to continue with the TASFA application.
  3. Enter your account credentials, or if you do not have an account yet, create one by selecting “Sign up now.”
    • Complete the two-step verification process for security.
  4. After logging in, select “Apply Now” to begin the 2024-2025 eTASFA application.
    • Enter your personal information, background, and income details. If applicable, enter your parent(s) or spouse’s information as well.
    • Important: In the College section, include ACC using the school code 012015. Then, enter your ACC eID under “College Student ID.” Your ACC eID connects your application to your student account. Forgetting to provide your ACC eID could lead to you having to resubmit your eTASFA.
  5. Sign and Submit
    • If parent information is required, you’ll need to request your parent’s signature by entering their email within your application. The email used for your parent cannot be the same as your student email. Provide your parent with the following information:
      • Student application ID
      • Student email used for the TASFA
      • Student date of birth (DOB)

Note: The eTASFA is currently available only in English. However, if you need assistance in Spanish, you can reference the paper application while completing the online version.

Option 2: Complete the Paper TASFA

Download and fill out the paper TASFA form. Submit it to the ACC Financial Aid Office in-person, via email ([email protected]), or by fax (512-223-7963).

Step 2: Track Your Status

The Financial Aid Office will begin processing 2024-2025 TASFA applications later this spring semester. Track your application status via your ACCMail and Self-Service for updates.
